Details for Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail Ride
Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail Ride
Date: 24 and 25 of March 2012
Where and when to meet?
Option 1: Meet us at the Noise Bar (corner of Upfield Path and Albert Street), 9:00 am Saturday and ride to Flinders Street Station together, OR
Option 2: Meet us in front of the last carriage on platform 3 in Flinders Street Station. The train to Lilydale leaves at 9:50 am.
OR
Option 3: Make your way to Lilydale at your own leisure and preferred mode of transport and meet us in Lilydale.

Description: Ride on the rail trail from Lilydale to Warburton (one way 40 km), bring tents and stay overnight at the caravan park (or make other arrangements. The pub is quite nice.) Nice easy pace, gentle gradients. Stop at the odd cafe or three. Children, families and infrequent riders welcome.

Cinema Nova Mystery Ride – Date: 16 April 2012
Ride at a leisurely pace to the Nova cinema, watch a mystery movie that will be on (the Nova hasn’t finalised the program yet) and have a drink and/ or snack beforehand.
ANZAC Glow Stick Ride – Date: 25 April 2012
Ride to the Hotel Esplanade in St. Kilda and enjoy music and drinks and good company.
Airport & Woodlands Homestead Ride – Date: 20 May 2012
We will ride to the airport for a latte and then on to the Woodlands Homestead for a picnic. The return journey will be through the Bandicoot Reserve and Gellibrand Hill. A stop at the bakery at Old Broady is certainly a possibility.
Winter Solstice Afternoon Tea Ride – Date: 23 June 2012
Ride at a leisurely pace to the Abbotsford Convent/Collingwood Children’s Farm for some afternoon tea.

People’s Choice Ride — Sunday 23th October
The next ride organised by The Squeaky Wheel is on this Sunday…
Put the public in public art and join the People’s Choice ride of the MoreArt Trail.
Taking in all of the exhibition sites, selected artists will be on hand to describe or perform their works. The ride will conclude at The Brunswick Green with a ceremony awarding the $1000 prize for the People’s Choice Award. Voting prize of $200 also up for grabs. Enjoy a complimentary drink for riders on arrival! It’s a win-win-win.
Meeting Point: From 12pm at Lux Foundry Café, 21 Hope St Brunswick, (departing 12.35pm)
Finishing: The Brunswick Green, 313 Sydney Rd at 3.30pm

The Squeaky Wheel is organising some bike tours of the City of Moreland MoreArt Public Art show, and would love you – as Moreland’s cycling representatives – to be involved.
Spring Fashion Ride – Wednesday 12 October
Mark the end of ride to work day in style with a leisurely ride along the MoreArt Trail. Don your favourite spring frock or pull out your finest regalia for a downhill coast celebrating the creative spine of the municipality. After taking in the Artland exhibition of student works at RMIT, the ride will finish up at The Brunswick Green, with a complimentary drink for riders on arrival. Pimms and lemonade anyone?
Meeting Point: Gowrie Station at 4pm
Tour Ends: Group will arrive at Brunswick Green, 313 Sydney Rd at 6pm

Op shop ride and treasure hunt — Saturday 10th September

11AM — Brotherhood St Laurence Op Shop Brunswick
A ride and rummage through the Op shops of Brunswick. After the ride we’ll compare our finds at a Coburg cafe.
Treasure Hunt bragging rights for:
- Best find for under $5.00
- Coolest thing you can hold in the palm of your hand.
- Best bad taste / Kitsch item.
- Craziest costume.
- Most stylish ‘DIY’ Diva award.
- “Project Inspiration” Award (Tell us what you are going to make with your op-shop find)

Reasonably Fast Ride — Thursday 1st September

Reasonably Fast Rides are back!
Meet 7pm outside Velo Cycles, first Thursday every month.
We will ride around 20km at a reasonably fast pace and end up somewhere for food and drink.

Enter via Golf Rd. I think. Or ride north along the Merri Creek Bike Path from Dight’s Falls, then jump off when you hit Newlands Rd.
$10. Three categories: CX Bikes, Open Bikes, Kids.
Next HumeBUG ride – 3rd April
The ride will head off down the Western Ring trail from the Westmeadows Bakery at 9.00am sharp.
We will turn right before Pipeworks and proceed down Merri Creek toward Rushall Station. Here we divert toward the Yarra. At Burnley Street we will detour to the Swap-Meet in Abbotsford. Afterwards we will continue on to Southbank, Docklands and return via the Moonee Ponds Creek. All up we should travel approximately 67km along relatively flat bike paths. Enjoy stunning vistas along the Merri Creek, Riviera of Melbourne’s north and the majestic splendour of the grand old Yarra.

The Teddy Bear’s Picnic Ride is on this Saturday
The Teddy Bear’s Picnic Ride is on this Saturday (March 19).
Meeting point: 11:30am at CERES Café (Lee Street, Brunswick East). The ride departs CERES at 12 noon.
Description: Bring a bike, picnic goodies, good weather and a teddy bear mascot. We will ride 5 km at a meandering pace from CERES to Coburg Lake via the Merri Creek Trail and enjoy a picnic by the lake.
